OUR VISION
TO PROVIDE QUALITY AND AFFORDABLE MEDICAL CARE, BIBLICAL TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES FOR YOUTH IN AFRICAN COMMUNITIES.
The Selwyn and Muriel Arnold Africa Foundation (SMAAF) was created to honor Drs Selwyn and Muriel Arnold's legacy and continue to contribute to mission efforts in the rural parts of Africa. The Arnolds have devoted their entire lives to provide quality health care, educational advancement and ministerial development, training and church planting in several African countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Namibia and Togo.
Drs. Selwyn and Muriel were on the mission field from 1966-1983 and witnessed first hand the poor medical conditions in the communities. The Lord spoke to their heart and the Church of God Clinic in Ghana was born in 1974 and the Uduak Abasi Medical clinic in Nigeria was established in 1980. The Ghana Bible Institute was founded where many
students were trained to become pastors, teachers and missionaries.
As the clinics were born out of connection and collaboration with local leadership, SMAAF continues to connect, consult and collaborate with the locals to empower and enable ongoing and successful development.
“Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John 4:35 (KJV)
' if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness." Romans 12:7-8 (ESV)
BIBLE TRAINING AND MINISTERIAL DEVELOPMENT
"And the gospel must first be published among all nations." Mark 13:10 (KJV)
Throughout the many years Western missionaries have given themselves to preach and teach the word of in undeveloped countries. Political developments have made the task more tedious but the mandate still stands.
SMAAF is avowed to help build and develop Bible Schools in Africa for the impartation of sound biblical education of the indigenous who will go where foreigners are forbidden.
SMAAF will help help to develop research sources that will strengthen their faith in uncompromised biblical teaching, that the solid word of God will be perpetuated in the years to come and to the new generation. They will be able to differentiate heresy and truth, the Almighty Gods and other gods and enjoy clean, holy lives and rearing up godly families.
HEALTHCARE
Despite medical advancements worldwide, many communities in rural Africa still do not have access to quality medical facilities and healthcare. SMAAF is committed to assist the upgrading of existing clinics. The clinics that SMAAF currently assists are under equipped, under resourced and are poorly maintained due to a lack of resources. SMAAF wants to ensure that better and safer facilities are put in place.
EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
Education and school development are often underserved and under resourced in remote rural communities. SMAAF is committed in donating equipment, educational resources and support.
Our scholarship is designed to develop natural leadership potential by offering deserving students the opportunity to improve their career opportunities by studying at college or university level.
